Stelton Spring/Summer 2017

Stelton Spring summer 2017

Exciting news for the Stelton Spring/Summer ’17 campaign. With new products, a classic revival and a mix of soft colours inspired by Scandinavian evenings by the sea.

Celebrating 50 years. Arne Jacobsen, the Danish designer and architect (and my hero) designed the classic Cylinda-line range for Stelton. These iconic tableware designs started as a simple drawing on a napkin at a family dinner. After 3 years of development (in 1967) along with new methods of stainless steel production the Cylinda-line range was launched.  50 years on and still to this day the award winning cocktail and tableware series continues to have a modernist impression within any home.

This year Stelton celebrates the 50th Anniversary of this beautiful design with a launch of a colourful limited edition enamelled pieces. The surprisingly soft and colourful palette has come from Arne Jacobsen’s love for painting and interest in botanical beauty. Selected pieces are enamelled in smokey blue, dusty teal, powder and ocean blue.

”The primary factor is proportions. Next come the materials—not mixing the wrong materials. And out of this comes, of course, the colour—and seen all together—the overall impression.”Arne Jacobsen, 1968

I think I will always be a fan of the classic stainless steel finish but that’s not surprising as I do tend to shy away from colour. Though if you do embrace colour, even in the most subtle way, then these pieces are for you.

Celebrating in style, Stelton are also launching a Cylinda-line ice bucket inspired by Arne Jacobsen’s original AJ wine cooler/ice bucket designed in 1969. This classic bar set is now complete! One to lust over and to last a lifetime.

The Emma pitcher, made of stainless steel with a coated beechwood handle is a wonderful addition to the Emma range with Kettle and vacuum jugs. Designed to be seen. Next to the Emma Jug is the new Concave vase a simple, clean and modern silhouette.
