Øl & Brød in the garden | COS x HAY

The simple things in life are often the best, relaxing in the garden with a beer and nibbling on sourdough bread is bliss. I found the hipster Danish beer, Mikkeller, sold in a bottle shop near by which is such a great treat and had to stock up. The labels are particularly nice! Now that summer time is here (though temperamental) I decided to create my own Danish oasis in my London garden. Using my fav pieces from COS x HAY and some good old øl and brød (beer and bread). Danish beer and Danish design, the ingredients for a perfect evening outside.

Whenever I visit Denmark I eat lots of bread and butter with no shame. Sourdough is often served as a pre dinner nibble, with a generous portion of butter sprinkled with salt flakes. Something that I love to do, even if it’s not for dinner. Here I served sourdough bread on the field bread board made from solid beech wood. I’ve been quite taken with the glass lens pot by Hay for sometime, why not use it as a butter dish? I looks pretty cool. Using the plant pot made from polystone as a temporary ice bucket works a treat.

The plus 9 blanket is really cosy and perfect for chilly evenings. I cuddle up to it all of the time. Blankets are so often used when sitting outside in Scandinavian countries, this is something we need to do more of in the UK and enjoy the evenings a little longer. I’ll be spending more of my evenings outside for sure!
