A hygge feast with Skandium

Following on from my post about ‘hygge’ I wanted to share the incredibly beautiful evening I had at the Knoll showroom in Clerkenwell. Hosted by Skandium I had the ultimate Scandinavian hygge feast to remember. The Danish concept ‘hygge’ is meant to be a welcoming, cosy word but you don’t have to be cuddled up underneath a blanket to feel it. It can be felt in happy moments, warm social gatherings, eating great food and surrounding yourself with things and people that you love.

Set within the showroom there were multiple tables dressed ready for dinner, all of different styles and incredible designs. I was seated at the Saarinen Dining Table (with tulip chairs) next to my best friend and a table full of unknown friendly faces. The tables were perfectly laid out with Finnish brand Iittala‘s stunning tableware and beautiful seasonal flowers. It was great to use all of the products that I’ve been swooning over for so long. The quality is incredible and the style eclectic, sophisticated and quirky.

Gubbröra – Old Man’s relish of spiced anchovy and egg
Not the most appealing foodie picture I’ve taken but I assure you this was stunning. Eaten with rye bread this Scandi version of egg mayonnaise (kinda) was stunning. I need to learn how to make this!
